Just before this year’s Women’s World Cup began I published this story on TheAtlantic.com about the tense history between women’s sports and feminism and the vast gender inequalities that exist for women athletes.
I’ve had the opportunity to work on a few other pieces since I’ve been traveling up to the tournament. One on fans at the World Cup for Vice Sports. Then I weighed in on U.S. Soccer’s policy about off the field behavior as it relates to Hope Solo for New York Times’ Room for Debate. And if you are tired of reading about women’s soccer you can simply listen to me talk about the Women’s World Cup and gender inequality over on PRI’s To The Point. (So much easier.)
